Video for Ag Ol, ag Ol ag an Garbhóg
I wrote this song with Enda Reilly a few years ago. Sitting overlooking Sligo from Knocknarea Mountain I was struck by the county's beauty. That in itself is not something particularly rare or uncommon, the landscape being so stunning, but on this occasion I felt connected to the past and to the many who had shared the same feeling I was experiencing. From Knocknarea I could see the Garavogue, the river on which Sligo is built. It became a song about memory and how strongly we can feel a sense of connection to a place.

'Wild Geese' by Mary Oliver
....
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting --
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.

St Finian's w/ Enda Reilly (Part II) Feb 28th
Nighthawks 07.02.2015
Here's a grainy little clip from our appearance at Cobalt Café for Nighthawks recently.
A smoky fire flickered in the back garden outside the stately Georgian building on North Great George's Street. A full and attentive audience within. So great to play some of the old songs from Busy Whisper & In Movement.
Well done Stephen Kennedy for keeping the flame alive. Well done all promoter types for keeping it alive.
St Finian's w/ Enda Reilly
Looking forward to playing with Enda Reilly at St Finian's Church on February 28th. Finian's is a lovely Lutheran Church just off Leeson Street. I seem to only perform in churches these days! I'll be playing with Christophe Capewell and Enda Roche.
