Video for Ag Ol, ag Ol ag an Garbhóg

I wrote this song with Enda Reilly a few years ago. Sitting overlooking Sligo from Knocknarea Mountain I was struck by the county's beauty. That in itself is not something particularly rare or uncommon, the landscape being so stunning, but on this occasion I felt connected to the past and to the many who had shared the same feeling I was experiencing. From Knocknarea I could see the Garavogue, the river on which Sligo is built. It became a song about memory and how strongly we can feel a sense of connection to a place.

Nighthawks 07.02.2015

Here's a grainy little clip from our appearance at Cobalt Café for Nighthawks recently.

A smoky fire flickered in the back garden outside the stately Georgian building on North Great George's Street. A full and attentive audience within. So great to play some of the old songs from Busy Whisper & In Movement.

Well done Stephen Kennedy for keeping the flame alive. Well done all promoter types for keeping it alive.

Idiot Songs & Lubomyr Melnyk / 23.01.2015

On January 23rd Justin & I shivered in the bowels of Dublin's Unitarian Church before taking to the altar to perform. Beautifully lit, the venue was full, the sound pure. Before Lubomyr played he gave some context to his work and spoke of the ineffable grace of music. Then we slipped into the symphony, the meaningless and the meaningful, and in the swell and crash of sound I saw my life flicker.

Salutations,

Dear reader, welcome to my newly designed website where I will keep you up to date with news of my pursuits and endeavours. The site has been designed by Mr Stephen Kiernan (who designed the vinyl release of In Movement) and once again he has done a fantastic job. Many thanks Stephen.

On the near horizon I have plans to play some Idiot Songs gigs with Justin in January as well as a host of new songs to put to record. More on that anon.

Right now, it is nearing Christmas so best wishes of the season to you and yours,

Pearse
